This is how we start the process. First, we get an image and then the tiles are positioned just right and it all begins.
oooh La La Mosaic Tile is our small way of bringing some more beauty to this world. We want you to enjoy our site as much as we enjoy making our designs for all.

Baltimore is a wonderful city! Our family is from Baltimore. We reside in the Lauraville community and Morgan State University is very close. This definitely is a town where art is a hit. Charles and I love this area and all that it offers.

You should see our workshop! Tile, wood panels, hooks, anchors, and tools everywhere. It is a mess; however, diamonds take a long time to come into their own." First, Charles starts this process with his ideas. He draws his images onto panels. Next, we begin the fun part especially because I like breaking the tile. We take 4x4 ceramic tiles and crack, file, mold, jigsaw the pieces together. After many hours of getting the figures the way we want, our diamonds finally appear. Now, I bet you are saying, "Well, that was easy!" Not yet, we go through nine steps or more to get what we have here. And you know that with bathroom privileges, it will take a little longer. We hope that you enjoy viewing some of our gifts.

Oooh La La Mosaic Tile Art
Specializing in mosaic art, oooh La La Mosaic Tile Art was created by husband and wife team Charles and Elizabeth Hawkins. Although the art form has been around for centuries, these crafters create mosaic art with an urban and contemporary style. They handcraft art using ceramic tile to produce unique decorations on recycled cabinet doors.
Encouraged by relative and vendor Theresa Carrington of You And Me Soaps, the Hawkins are selling their artwork at the Baltimore Farmers' Market & Bazaar, where they can meet a variety of people and introduce them to their art.
YOU CAN SEE MORE OF OUR ART AT THE SUNDAY FARMERS' MARKET & BAZAAR IN BALTIMORE under the bridge in downtown BALTIMORE.
